Meet Richard, student

Richard Ward just graduated as a Junior Mechanic from Neighborhood Bike Works. Richard heard about the program from veteran student Curtis Scarbrough. He attends Shoemaker Middle School in West Philadelphia. This 13-year-old says that he loves attending N.B.W.

Richard has a GT BMX bike that he says is in excellent condition and is lout of 4 bikes he's earned from the program. Richard can do wheelies, grinders, endos, jumps, and riding with no hands. He always wears his helmet except in his neighborhood.

In order to become a Junior Mechanic he had to take a test to be sure he knew everything to know about advanced bike skills and passed the first time with a perfect score. When he rides his bike he obeys all safety rules.
